Winston Plywood Update 12-26-15

Site Utilities:

· Rain stopped work in this area


Buildings:

· Continued installing gutter system on West side Building 2.

· Continued forming column wraps in building 5

· Placed slab for Mezzanine


Electrical:

· Continued making terminations for primary power.

· Continued installing lighting throughout the plant.

· Continued electrical distribution throughout the plant


Racetrack Piping:

· Began hydro testing plant piping (Air and Water).

· Began making adjustments to pipe drops at exterior columns


Log Conditioning Vaults

· Began backfill of the 1st 8 foot of the recovery tank

· Began placing forms for the top portion of the walls for the water recovery tank

· Continued placing rebar for the Vault bottoms 7 thru 14.


Site Paving

· Rain stopped work in this area


Log Pro Merchandiser:

· Rain stopped work in this area


Plant Build-out:

· Began block work for Office area.

· Began block work for Lunch room area.

· Began block work for Mezzanine Area


Hog Glue Lathe Chipper:

Winston Plywood Update 12-18-15


Site Utilities:

· Pump house at Fire tank were set into place


Buildings:

· Detailing roof buildings 6,6a,8,11

· Gutter system on building 2 started north working to the South.

· Wall sheets Building 5 East side, Building 9 North and South side.


Electrical:

· Continued testing of primary power cables.

· Continued terminating primary power cables.

· Continued hanging lights throughout plant.

· Continued with fire alarm system.

· Continued with power distribution throughout the plant.


Racetrack Piping:

· Began testing of air and water lines.


Log Conditioning Vaults

· Bottom section of all pit walls were placed.

· Forming 1st section of Slab for vaults and trench.


Site Paving

· Form work to continue paving on the East side North moving South.


Log Pro Merchandiser:

· Continued setting forms, reinforcing, and embedded steel for foundations

· Placed 2nd section foundation.

· Excavation of and began form work for area 3.

· Contractor began setting and welding Merchandiser on Area 1.


Plant Build-out:

· Began block work for Office area.

· Began block work for Lunch room area.

· Began block work for Mezzanine Area


Hog Glue Lathe Chipper:

· Rub walls on Glue room Foundation

· Began lowering chipper platform and extending north end.


Winston Plywood:

· Continued with assembly of #3 dryer.

· Continued placing MCCs

· Continued assembly of Green End Equipment.

· Began placing equipment for Putty line.

· Continued assembly of Log Pro Equipment.

· Continued with electrical for Dryers 1&2.

· Continued with Green End Electrical.

CITY OF LOUISVILLE GARBAGE PICKUP FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S HOLIDAYS 2015

The City of Louisville Solid Waste Garbage Pickup schedule has been changed so that the Thursday route will be picked up on Wednesday, and the Friday route will be picked up on Thursday,  for both Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

 The Thursday, December 24 garbage pickup will be made on Wednesday,  December  23,  and the Friday, December 25 pickup will be made on Thursday, December 24. 

The Thursday, December 31 garbage pickup will be made on Wednesday, December 30, and the Friday, January 1 garbage pickup will be made on Thursday, December 31.

·         Completed trim-out on roof framing for wall sheets on Building 6

·         Continued excavation and placing No. 57 stone for vault foundation
·         Continued work on forms for slab on Vaults No. 7-14
·         Set forms, installed reinforcing, and placed Section 1 on Vault Holding Tank walls (North wall, approximately 2/3 of east wall – up to 8’-0”)
·         Set forms and installed rebar on west wall & both south walls on Vault Holding Tank

Log Pro Merchandiser:
·         Continued setting forms, reinforcing, and embedded steel for foundations
·         Placed concrete in Section 1 foundation
·         Contractor began setting and welding structural bents on Section 1 foundation

Plant Build-out:
·         Performed layout for office area, lunchroom area, and mezzanine area to begin block work
·         Masonry contractor mobilized to the site

Winston Plywood:
·         Continued refurbishing and installing green-end equipment for both east and west lathe lines
·         Continued refurbishing Dryer No. 2
·         Continued to receive both new and used process equipment
·         Continued construction of No. 3 Veneer Dryer
·         Continued installing MCC units throughout plant

Setting forms, embeds, and rebar for Log Pro equipment foundations

Setting final section of Racetrack truss and piping

Foundations:
  • Placed Lathe Charger pedestals at Lathes 1 and 2

Buildings:
  • Completed installing upper wall sheets on west side of Building 1 and installed ground-level wall sheets on east side of Building 1
  • Started punchlists on Building 1
  • Completed valley metals on Building 3 (North and south sides at Buildings 7 & 8)

  •  Completed installing wall sheets and translucent panels on Building 4 (south end of plant)

  • Completed installing wall sheets on north end of Building 5 and began installing louver trim-out (north end of plant)
  • Completed installing insulation and roof sheets on Building 7
  • Continued installing mezzanine decking for elevated slab in Building 8
  • Completed installing standing-seam roof on Building 11

Fire Protection:
  • Continued installing hose station piping
  • Continued installing drum-drips and drains for sprinkler systems
  • Completed installing underground fire loop, specifically along the north side of the existing main parking lot
  • Continued erecting fire water storage tank (two remaining nozzles to install)
  • Received two prefabricated fire system houses
  • Pneumatically tested building sprinkler systems and repaired leaks
  • Began installing sprinkler systems in Buildings 6, 6A, 7, 8, and 11

Fire Protection:

· Continued installing hose station piping

· Continued installing drum-drips and drains for sprinkler systems

· Continued installing underground fire loop, specifically along the north side of the existing main parking lot

· Installed two hydrants in parking lot area

· Continued installing underground sectional valve boxes

· Continued erecting fire water storage tank

Hog Room, Glue Room, and Lathe & Chipper Deck:

· Completed installing wall purling on Buildings 6, 6A, 7, 8, and 11

· Continued seaming roof panels on Buildings 3 and 4



Fire Protection:

· Continued installing pipe bracings and supports throughout buildings in preparation for system testing

· Continued installing hose station piping

· Continued installing underground fire loop, specifically along the north side of the existing main parking lot

· Tied in main loop to previously installed section of piping at northwest corner of plywood plant building

· Began erecting fire water storage tank



Hog Room, Glue Room, and Lathe & Chipper Deck:

· Continued erecting structural steel on Glue Room

· Finished installing glue tanks in glue room

· Placed concrete containment wall at west section of glue room



Electrical:

· Continued electrical rough-in for lighting and miscellaneous electrical

· Began lighting mock-up installation for review and acceptance for building lighting system

· Continued installing cable tray throughout the plant

· Installed electrical switchgear in center electrical room and began pulling primary feeders

· Continued running conduit for process equipment at green-end, dryers, presses, and dry-end

· Continued installing primary underground service to transformers 9-13



Site Utilities:

· Continued installing water line from connection at City of Louisville main water line; Made hot-tap connection onto existing city water line to connect plywood plant water systems

· Installed precast meter vault, meter base, and back-flow prevention system just west of fire water storage tank

· Installed final section of storm drain piping and tied into trench drain

Racetrack Piping:

· Received and installed six additional sections of racetrack trusses and piping

· Continued installing flexible connections between sections of racetrack piping

· Continued installing support hangers for branch lines from the racetrack piping

· Began installation of branch lines for process water and air piping from racetrack



Boiler and Steam:

· Installed exhaust stacks on three boilers

· Received and staged boiler DA tank



Log Conditioning Vaults

· Continued excavation for 16’ deep concrete holding tank and reached final grade

· Continued to pump accumulated water from rains throughout the week



Log Pro Merchandiser:

· Laid out boundaries of Log Pro equipment foundations



Winston Plywood:

· Continued refurbishing and installing green-end equipment for both east and west lathe lines

· Disassembled east lathe and painted main frames

· Continued to receive both new and used process equipment

· Continued construction of No. 3 Veneer Dryer (Dryer main framework and heating system)

· Continued concrete base and wall modifications in Press Pit No. 3

· Installed press platens in Press No. 4

· Continued to set layup line and finishing line equipment in place



Miscellaneous:

· Continued construction for primary power line to WP&V site – pulled overhead transmission wiring into place along power line

· Received 2.5” of rain through noon Friday of this week
