Winston Plywood Progress-6-26-14

This is a weekly update on construction progress at the Winston Plywood and Veneer Facility in Louisvile:

Foundations:
· Placed slab for Building 3 from Column Rows 3-21 (East side of

· Formed and place rebar on Columns A-1, A-3, A-5, and A-9.

· Prepared Old No. 1 dryer demolition area for concrete. Removed soil and filled with crushed concrete. Drilled existing slab for dowels into existing slabs.

· Backfilled and performed grading for grade beam on Building
Building)

Plumbing:

· Installed floor drains and cleanouts for restrooms on east side of

Building:

· Performed detailing on Building 1 at Column Rows 1-5
· Completed detailing and trim-out from Column Rows 6 – 31 on Building No. 1

· Installed framing detailing on north end of Building 1 and Building 5

· Insulation and roofing placed from Column Rows 1-8 on east side

· Install wall girts and trim-out on Building 9 & 10

· Bar-joists complete on Building 5, working on trim-out components

· Began erecting structural steel on Building 3 (East side of plant)


Fire Protection:

· Completed final installation of underground fire line from main fire loop to riser building

· Continued installation of underground service and hydrants on west side of building

· Installed thrust blocks for underground fittings on underground service on west side of building


Electrical:

· Contractor for 13 KV primary power supply continued underground duct banks to transformers and switchboards on south east side of building

Winston Plywood Progress - 6-12-15

Foundations:
· Grade wall continues along Column Row A on west side of
building. Tie- in-wall foundation footing is in place at Column Row 13, connecting new grade wall to existing building foundation.

· Building No. 3 (East Side of Main Building) – Building slab is in place from Column Row 17 to 25 (Photos 4732 and 4762)

Plumbing:
· Underground plumbing for restroom and break-rooms on east side of building at Column Row 15 in place

Building:
· Decking is complete on south end of building at hip roof between

Column Rows 1 and 3

· Detailing and trim-out ongoing from Column Rows 6 – 31 on Building No. 1

A regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Louisville was held at five-thirty o’clock p.m. on the 16th day of June 2015, at the City Hall, the aforesaid being the time and place for the meeting with the following officers present:  William A. “Will” Hill, Mayor; Eugene Crosby, Mayor Pro Tem; Frances S. Ball, Richard R. (Dickie) Caperton, Judy H. McLeod, and Gwenita Mays, Aldermen; Babs W. Fulton, City Clerk.


The meeting was duly opened and called to order by Mayor Will Hill.  Richard R. Caperton gave the opening prayer and the Mayor led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The following business was transacted at the meeting:

Weekly Progress Update- Winston Plywood- June 7

Foundations:
·         Building No. 3 (East Side of Main Building) - Grade beams placed on O-Line from columns lines 3-7 and 17-24
·         Building No. 2 (West Side of Main Building) - Concrete wall placed from Columns 13-23

Building Structural Steel:
·         Rafters in place connecting columns at rows 1-25 on Building 1
·         Structural steel placed between Columns 1-3, began placing bar joists
·         Detailing and trim-out ongoing from Column Rows 5-13
·         Decking in place from Column Row 12-23 on west side of Building 1
·         Decking in place from Column Row 12-23 on east side of Building 1
·         Continue erecting steel on Building 10.  East wall structural steel in place. 
·         Received 5 loads of structural steel and bar joists
·         North end-wall erected on Building 5 (At column row 31)

Fire Protection:
·         12” underground fire loop in place along north and east sides of plant site, and approximately 40% across south side of plywood building (Underground not placed at old RTO site)
·         Underground continued along west side of site approximately 200’.
·         Two underground supply lines installed to fire riser rooms inside plywood building

Electrical:
·         All 13 electrical duct-banks in place from stub-ups inside electrical rooms (at switchboards) to a point 5’ outside of east building wall
