Winston Plywood Update 6-24-16




Site Utilities

· Continued installing drain system north of Building 5 (Installing inverts and 15” drain pipe)

Northeast Corner – Log Ramp Construction
· Placed east-side and west-side concrete walls.

· Removed forms and began placing fill material

Hog, Glue Room, and Chipper Deck

· Continued installing piping and valves at glue makeup and storage area

· Continued installing piping from glue room to lay-up line equipment

Winston Plywood Weekly Update- 6-17-16

Finished concrete paving between plyblock kickout pockets and vaults

Northeast Corner – Log Ramp Construction
  • Performed layout, sawcutting, and demo of existing concrete for installation of wall footings
  • Installed rebar and placed both east and west wall footings
  • Installed rebar and set forms for placement of west concrete wall

Winston Plywood Update 6-10-16




Hog, Glue Room, and Chipper Pad

· Continued installing air conditioning units in glue make-up area

· Continued installing piping at glue makeup and storage area

· Continued installing piping from glue room to lay-up line equipment



Low Voltage Electrical:


· Continued installing conduit and wiring to breakroom / restrooms / offices at mezzanine area

· Completed terminations for electrical service to Vault MCC unit

· Continued installation of Fire Alarm System controls



Plant Build-Out:


· Continued painting building door frames on exterior of main building

· Continued finish-coat painting in lower floor offices at mezzanine area

· Began installing stud wall framing on mezzanine floor

· Continued laying blocks on west side breakroom and restrooms

· Installed handrails on access stairs to mezzanine floor

· Began installing rails for overhead crane system at lathe deck



Plant Piping:


· Continued installing steam and condensate piping to Dryers No. 1, 2, and 3

· Continued steam and condensate piping in boiler room

· Began piping for High Pressure Receiver and pump system

· Continued installing air piping in compressor room and out into the plant



Site Paving:


· Completed excavation and backfill for paving between vault apron and Log Pro equipment

· Placed rebar in area between vault apron and Log Pro equipment (concrete placement scheduled for Saturday 06-11)

· Placed and finished paving at dryer wash-down water pit (southeast corner of building)



Fire Protection System:


· Continued installing hose reels at building columns

· Continued installing overhead feeder lines to Dryers 1 & 2



Log Conditioning Vaults:
· Completed construction of 5’ concrete knee wall along north side of vault drain ditch to holding pit

· Completed installation of steel framework for stoop over ditch along north wall on vaults

· Continued grading, backfill, and compaction of material along west and north walls at vaults

· Erected support columns and installed pipe bridge across roadway to vaults

· Began placing roof system over vault water holding pit



RTO Rebuild


· Continued installing ductwork from dryers to RTO

· Installed insulation on ductwork over south roadway (ductwork from building to RTO)

· Received and installed new gas train and piping for RTO

· Installed expansion joints on main RTO duct (north side of RTO)

· Placed footer for RTO ID fan and motor foundation

· Placed concrete pedestals for RTO ID fan and motor

· Continued refurbishing RTO equipment



East and West Side Residuals
· Installed roof trusses and roofing on electrical building for West Side Residuals

· Continued installing ducting from equipment to by-products system outside building



Winston Plywood & Veneer


· Continued refurbishing and installing Lathes No. 1 & 2 and related equipment (continued focus on east lathe line)

· Continued installing equipment at both clippers, green stackers, and pull chains (continued focus on east lathe line)

· Continued refurbishing chippers and conveyors for green-end by products (on chipper deck)

· Continued cleaning and painting green-end and dry end equipment and support steel

· Continued electrical installation at Green-End equipment (conduit and power wiring)

· Continued installing electrical service from electrical room to Log Pro equipment

· Continued assembly and installation of Dryer No. 1, 2, & 3 infeed and outfeed sections

· Continued making modifications to Stackers for Dryers No. 2 & 3

· Continued installing electrical power to Dryers 1, 2, & 3

· Continued installing air piping to veneer dryers

· Continued installing glue lay-up line equipment

· Continued installing trim-saw equipment and plywood stacker platforms and stairs

· Continued installing two trusses and conveyors from bark hog tower to top of east side residuals truck bins (over truck bins)

· Continued installing chutework from bark and block conveyors to bark hog

· Continued installing chutework at transitions from tree-length infeed deck and debarker conveyor, and from block saw equipment block conveyor to hog I/F system

· Continued performing preliminary test runs on No. 1 Lathe line motors and equipment

· Continued installing piping on roof of vaults



Miscellaneous


· Atmos Gas placed material underneath gas metering station piping and turned on gas to plant. For safety purposes, gas valves feeding the boiler room and RTO from the metering station are closed until boilers and RTO are ready for firing.

Winston Plywood Update 6-3-16


Site Utilities

· Continued installing pipe bollards around fire hydrants on south and west sides of plywood building and filled with concrete

· Fire water tank was filled from City of Louisville water line and hydro test was performed on tank

Hog, Glue Room, and Chipper Pad

· Continued cleanup on blocks and area around glue make-up and storage rooms

· Began installing air conditioning units in glue make-up area

Low Voltage Electrical:


· Continued installing conduit and wiring to breakroom / restrooms / offices at mezzanine area

· Completed pulling cable from switchgear to Vault MCC unit

· Began terminations for electrical service to Vault MCC unit

· Continued installation of Fire Alarm System controls



Plant Build-Out:


· Completed weld-out on overhead crane in maintenance shop

· Began painting of building door frames

· Began finish-coat painting in lower floor offices at mezzanine area
