Winston Plywood Weekly Update 7-29-16




Foundations:
·         Continued making repairs to old floor slab (North side of No. 1 dryer and along building column line E)

Site Utilities:
·         Completed placing concrete in treads on stairs at lathe access areas

Northeast Corner – Log Ramp Construction Area:
·         Removed material, graded area, and set forms between vaults and tree-length deck for paving

Hog, Glue Room, and Chipper Deck:
·         Continued installing piping and valves at glue makeup and storage area
·         Completed installation of emergency eye wash station at glue room and caustic unloading area
·         Installed roll-up door at south end of second floor elevation in glue room

Low Voltage Electrical:
·         Continued installing conduit and wiring to breakroom / restrooms / offices at mezzanine area, west side break & restroom area, and in shipping office
·         Continued installing fire alarm system on metal wall at mezzanine and maintenance shop area

Log Pre-Conditioning Vaults:
·         Continued placing plywood blocks inside vaults for heating and peeling
·         Heated water in vault water holding tank by circulating through heat exchangers
·         Pumped water onto logs in vaults and heated logs
·         Installed temporary fencing around perimeter of vault water holding pit and along north side of vault water drainage trench

Plant Build-Out:
·         Continued installing bathroom fixtures in west-side restrooms
·         Placed concrete in stair treads and lands on stairs at west side of mezzanine area
·         Continued installing door hardware throughout east and west side restroom and break areas
·         Continued installation of HVAC unit at shipping offices

Site Paving:
·         Continued excavation and placement of stone for paving between vaults and log infeed deck
·         Began layout and preparation for placement of reinforcing steel between vaults and log infeed deck for paving

RTO Rebuild:
·         Continued installing insulation on RTO duct (completed south side and continued on ID fan and stack)
·         Began insulating ID fan and RTO stack
·         Continued installing conduit and power to RTO duct controls and devices

East Side & West Side Residuals:
·         Continued fabricating and installing guards for conveyor drive units
·         Continued installing ductwork to truck bins on west-side residuals
·         Set cyclone down-comer piping on both cyclones
·         Set rotary feeders for high pressure blowers

Winston Plywood & Veneer:
·         Continued running logs through debarker and cut-up system, and kicked blocks out into log pockets
·         Continued placing logs in vaults and heating logs for peeling at Lathe No. 2
·         Continued checkout and peeling hot blocks on Lathe No. 2
·         Continued checkout on No. 2 lathe line equipment (lathe, clipper, & stacker)
·         Continued checkout and tuning on Log Pro equipment
·         Continued installing piping from glue room to lay-up line equipment
·         Continued installing trash conveyor for lay-up line to hog room
·         Continued details on installation of Dryer No. 1 & 2 infeed and outfeed sections
·         Continued testing dryer infeed systems and main dryer chains and rolls in No. 1 & 2 dryers
·         Continued installing glue lay-up line mechanical and electrical equipment
·         Continued details on installing trim-saw equipment
