911 TELECOMMUNICATOR POSITION AVAILABLE

Louisville/Winston County E911 is currently looking to fill a position for telecommunicator/ Emergency Dispatcher. Shifts consist of 8 and or 12 hour shifts and will include day shifts, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays. The fundamental purposes of this position are to receive all incoming emergency 911 calls for law enforcement, fire, and medical; to answer administrative calls such as inquiries into tickets, and fines; to dispatch necessary units to calls over two way radio; and to utilize computer aided dispatch software.Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, must be able to type 35 words per minute, be familiar with computers land basic office equipment, able to multi-task, have good communication skills and problem-solving skills.

Applicants must be able to work various shifts, as assigned, due to the unpredictable and critical nature of the work, and must be willing and available to work additional hours beyond assigned shifts, sometimes with little notice. Applicants must be able to pass background checks and drug testing. Familiarization of the geography and roads of Winston county is required.
