Winston Plywood Update- Feb 26


Foundations:

· No work this week

Site Utilities:

· No work this week

Buildings:

· Building contractor onsite to address warranty issues with building leaks

· Continued installing door trim (Front main pedestrian entrance and exterior doors on east side of building)

Racetrack Piping:

· No work this week


High Voltage Electrical:

· No work this week

Low Voltage Electrical:

· Continued installing lighting fixtures in Buildings 6, 6A, & 7

· Continued pulling tray cable throughout buildings (Mainly in green-end area near lathes)

· Continued terminations in Electrical Rooms

· Continued installing electrical conduits to Chipper Deck Electrical Room

· Continued installing lights in glue room and hog room

· Continued installing fire alarm piping, boxes, and wiring

Hog Room, Glue Room, Chipper Deck:

· Continued work on HVAC ductwork in glue room

· Set MCC on second level of Glue Room, installed conduit to MCC, and began pulling power cables to MCC

· Installed support framing for Chipper Deck Electrical Room roofing system, installed insulation, and placed wood perimeter framing


Plant Build-Out:

· Installed HVAC units on all three electrical rooms and installed frames for return air in walls

· Began installing HVAC units in both lathe control rooms (Conex boxes)

· Continued laying block walls in east mezzanine area (Restrooms, breakroom, office area, and maintenance shop)

· Took final measurements on both over head cranes at lathes and maintenance shop for crane & rail fabrication and installation



Plant Piping:

· Continued installing steam piping to Dryers No. 1, 2, and 3

· Continued installing steam piping along east building wall to green-end and vaults

· Continued installing insulation on steam and condensate piping

· Continued running steam and condensate piping along west side of presses


Site Paving:

· Worked on finish grading at south end of plant building


Fire Protection System:

· No work this week


Log Conditioning Vaults:

· Jumped forming system and placed west wall of Vault No. 11

· Installed tee-section on west wall of Vault No. 8

· Completed form work, installed rebar, and set embed plates for Vaults No. 17, 18, 19, & 20

· Jumped forms and began installing rebar for Vault No. 12

· Began forming and placing rebar for tee-section at Vaults 8 & 9


Log Pro Equipment Foundations:

· Continued work on refurbishing and installing Lathes No. 1 & 2

· Installed chain conveyor through both Lathes and out to chipper

Winston Plywood Update Feb 19



Foundations: 

· No work this week

Site Utilities:

· Continued installing protective pipe bollards around fire hydrants

· Continued flushing and testing fire protection loop and sprinkler systems

Buildings:

· Building contractor onsite to address warranty issues with building leaks

Racetrack Piping:

· Continued installing insulation on branch lines from racetrack

· Final inspection was conducted on racetrack trusses and piping. No issues were noted. Hydro test are to be performed on piping.

High Voltage Electrical:

· No work this week

Low Voltage Electrical:

· Continued installing lighting fixtures in Buildings 6, 6A, & 7

· Continued install cable tray and pulling tray cable throughout buildings

· Continued terminations in Electrical Rooms

· Continued installing electrical conduits to Chipper Deck Electrical Room

· Began installing lights in glue room and hog room

Hog Room, Glue Room, Chipper Deck:

· Installed roll-up doors to hog room (2 ea)

· Placed concrete fill in stair treads that access second floor and roof of glue room

· Continued work on HVAC ductwork in glue room

Plant Build-Out:

· Continued installing HVAC branch lines on ductwork at west-side breakrooms and restrooms

· Continued laying block on walls at east-side restrooms, breakroom, boiler room, and air compressor room

Fire Protection System:

· Began filling fire water storage tank with water

· Continued flushing underground fire look and sprinkler systems

· Continued pre-tying rebar mats for vault concrete walls

· Formed and placed west wall for Vault No. 10

· Completed forming and placed concrete for corner and north wall on Vault No. 7

· Completed form work, installed rebar, and placed floor slabs for Vaults No. 14, 15, and 16

· Began installing rebar mats for floor slab on Vaults 17, 18, 19, and 20

· Began moving forms forward for next vault wall

Log Pro Equipment Foundations:

· Received final design on log deck vertical wall

· Turned power on to convenience outlets in Buildings 1 and 3

· Completed installing duct bank for electrical service from primary power to fire system transformer
· Continued installing electrical conduits to Chipper Deck Electrical Room

· Completed installing sand backfill at holding tank and placed stone base for slab around tank
· Set forms, installed reinforcing, and placed & finished concrete for trench along north end of vaults 15 to 21
· Continued pre-tying rebar mats for vault concrete walls
· Formed and placed west wall for Vault No. 9 (progress impacted by winds on Monday and Tuesday)
· Began forming corner and north wall on Vault No. 7
· Began form work and placed rebar for floor slabs on Vaults No. 15 through 21

Log Pro Equipment Foundations:
· Removed forms from control cab foundation and Section 3A slab

Equipment Foundations (East and West Residuals:
· Placed additional six equipment foundations on west-side equipment
· Formed and placed foundation footings for west-side truck bins

Tree Giveaway to be Held in Louisville on February 26th

The City of Louisville has partnered with the Mississippi Forestry Commission and the National Arbor Day Foundation to offer the Mississippi Tree Recovery Campaign, in response to the tornado that hit the city on April 28, 2014. The tree giveaway is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 26, 2016, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Louisville Coliseum. The event will be hosted by the City of Louisville Parks and Recreation Department and the Winston County Master Gardeners. This (2016) will mark the second year that these organizations worked together to provide a diverse mix of native tree species to homeowners in Tupelo and Louisville.

· Energized power from incoming high voltage to Vista Gear and from Vista gear to Transformers 3 and 5 for building lighting

Low Voltage Electrical:

· Turned on building lighting in Buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10

· Completed installing lighting fixtures in Building 10

· Continued pulling tray cable throughout buildings

· Continued terminations in Electrical Rooms

· Completed cleaning electrical room

· Installed duct bank for electrical service from primary power to fire system transformer

Hog Room, Glue Room, Chipper Deck:

· Continued installing stairs and handrails at glue room (over first floor wall), to elevated tank floor, and to roof level over glue tanks

New Police Officers Swearing In

Friends and family gathered at the Louisville City Hall on Tuesday evening as the Louisville Police Department welcome two new officers. Joining the force at LPD are Justin  Marshall and Dalton Womble.

The officers were sworn in by Louisville Mayor Will Hill with family members and police chief  L. M. Claiborne on hand. The two new officers were later introduced to the Board of Aldermen at the regularly scheduled meeting later that evening.

Winston Plywood Weekly Update- Jan 29

Foundations:

· No work this week

Site Utilities:

· Adjusted valve box elevations for roadway paving on south end of plant

Buildings:

· Continued hanging doors and installing door hardware

· Installed glass in doors and continued installing door hardware

· Building inspection was performed by structural engineer, building manufacturer, building installation contractor, and construction management – five questions were asked during the inspection and all were answered to the satisfaction of inspection team during inspection

Racetrack Piping:

· No work this week

High Voltage Electrical:

· Energized incoming power to plant site from substation to power pole at southwest corner of plant (where electrical feeder goes underground)

· Inspections were performed on gear by electrical engineer and Louisville Electrical Service prior to “Phase I Power-On” to be conducted on Monday


Low Voltage Electrical:

· Continued installing lighting in Building 10

· Continued pulling tray cable throughout buildings

· Completed installing exterior building lighting

· Continued terminations in Electrical Rooms

· Began work on cleaning electrical rooms

· Locks and lockouts were installed on Vista Gear for underground switchgear


Hog Room, Glue Room, Chipper Deck:

· Continued installing stairs at glue room (over first floor wall), to elevated tank floor, and to roof level over glue tanks

· Continued laying blocks on glue room first floor walls


Plant Build-Out:

· Continued laying block wall on Column Line “F” (East side of Building 3)

· Continued laying block wall beneath mezzanine at breakroom and restrooms

· Continued installing HVAC branch lines on ductwork below mezzanine floor at east breakroom

· Received door frames for internal buildings

· Continued performing pressure tests on water piping for restrooms and breakrooms


Plant Piping:

· Continued installing steam piping to Dryers No. 1, 2, and 3

· Began layout on header in boiler room and steam/condensate piping to green-end and vaults

Site Paving:

· Correction from 01-24-2015 progress report

- Received concrete reinforcing for continuation of paving

· Performed fine grading to continue site paving east of building

· Installed rebar and placed concrete in approximately 19,000 SF of site paving on east side of plant

· Installed rebar in approximately 8,000 additional square feet of site paving at southeast corner of plant


Fire Protection System:

· Continued work on installing valve boxes in roadway on east side and south sides of plywood building

· Continued installing piping from main fire line into fill pump for fire tank

· Continued installing underground piping around fire tank to main fire pump

· Completed underground supply line from main fire pump to supply line to plant


Log Conditioning Vaults:

· Completed wet curing concrete slab for vaults 11, 12, 13, & 14 and removed burlap

· Continued placing backfill sand and select fill material around water storage tank walls

· Completed assembling forms and placed reinforcing / form system on west wall of Vault No. 7

· Continued pre-tying rebar mats for vault concrete walls


Log Pro Equipment Foundations:

· Completed placing fabric and stone for Log Pro foundation section No. 3

· Completed installing rebar mats and embedded steel plates in foundation section No. 3

· Placed, finished, and sawcut section No. 3 concrete slab

· Installed vertical rebar and began installing forms for debarker vertical foundations

· Set forms and began placing stone for foundations in section No. 3-A (At log infeed deck to mercher)


Equipment Foundations (East and West Residuals:

· Performed layout for west-side residual handling equipment

· Twelve west-side residual equipment foundations were placed this week
