Winston Plywood Weekly Update 3-25-16



Foundations:

· No work performed last week (plans are to perform this work when unable to place concrete outside of building due to rain)

Site Utilities:

· No work performed last week,

· Plan to set bollards at corners of building and fire hydrants for concrete paving this week
Buildings:

· Additional louvers have been delivered to side. Additional gutters and downspouts are on order. Contractor will mobilize to site to install louvers, gutters, and downspouts when gutters and downspouts arrive onsite.
Racetrack Piping:

· Pressure testing on lines remains to be performed when water piping is completed

· Trim-out piping and valves to plant equipment
High Voltage Electrical:

· No work performed this week

· Contractor will begin commissioning on balance of electrical gear on 03-28-2016
Low Voltage Electrical:

· Continued terminations in center and north electrical rooms

· Continued installing electrical conduits and cables to chipper deck electrical room

· Continued installing fire alarm piping, boxes, and wiring

· Continued installing cables to MCC’s

· Continued testing fire alarm system
Hog Room, Glue Room, Chipper Deck:

· No work performed this week

· Awaiting final design for glue mixer and glue holding tanks for glue room area
Plant Build-Out:

· Continued laying block walls and setting door frames in east mezzanine area (Restrooms, breakroom, and offices

· Laid out and delivered materials for modifications to west restroom and breakroom area

· Laid blocks on west restroom and breakroom area
Plant Piping:

· Continued installing steam and condensate piping to Dryers No. 1, 2, and 3

· Continued installing steam and condensate pipe hangers and piping along east building wall

· Continued installing trim-out and insulation on steam & condensate piping to dryers and presses
Site Paving:

· Performed fine grading, set forms, and tied rebar in paving area south of plant
Fire Protection System:

· Continued installing new deluge system in dryer #3

· Continued installing hose reels on building columns
Log Conditioning Vaults:

· Placed vault wall “Q”

· Continued pre-tying rebar mats for additional vault walls

· Installed Tee-Wall at vault wall “M”

· Placed concrete in five thickened floor slabs at vault north ends (vaults 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11)

· Began forming T-Wall at north end of Vault Line “N”

· Began forming Vault Wall “R”
Log Pro Equipment Foundations:

· All foundation work complete in this area
Equipment Foundations (East and West Residuals):

· Began setting forms for East-Side Residuals hog foundation (Base slab for hog structure)

· Continued pre-tying foundation steel for east-side residuals

· Set forms and placed rebar for truck bin slab and elevated concrete

· Placed and finished east-side truck bin slab

· Continued refurbishing and installing Lathes No. 1 & 2

· Continued installing equipment at both clippers, stackers, and pull chains

· Continued painting green-end equipment on lathe lines (decline belts, clippers, stackers, and pull chains)

· Continued electrical installation at Green-End equipment (conduit and power wiring)

· Continued installing electrical service from electrical room to Log Pro equipment (unistrut, cable tray, and conduit)

· Continued refurbishing Dryers No. 1 & 2

· Continued assembly and installation of Dryer No. 1, 2, & 3 infeed and outfeed sections

· Continued making modifications to Stacker for Dryer No. 2 (reverse hand)

· Continued installing dry stacker out-feed roll cases and discharge equipment (transfer equipment to dry stackers

· Continued refurbishing and painting dry-end equipment

· Continued installing electrical power to Dryers 1, 2, & 3

· Continued installing RTO Ducting (From dryers 1, 2, & 3)

· Boiler contractor continued piping from boilers to main, steam header

· Rotated RTO Stack on foundation to new angle to accept ID Fan

· Stripped wall forms and finished tree-length log deck retaining wall



Equipment Foundations (East and West Residuals):

· Continued saw-cutting new openings for east-side residual foundations

· Formed and placed grade beams for east-side truck bin

· Continued pre-tying foundation steel for east-side residuals

· Set forms and placed rebar for truck bin slab and elevated concrete

Winston Plywood Weekly Update-March 11



Foundations:

· Continued repairs to floor concrete voids and trenches; placed concrete in both trenches to restrooms

Site Utilities:

· Contractor installed final three fire hydrants at north end of building (on both sides of vaults and holding tank)

Buildings:

· Building installation contractor onsite addressing warranty issues

Racetrack Piping:

· Pressure testing on lines remains to be performed

High Voltage Electrical:

· Pending Change Order installation of additional louvers remains to be performed. Louvers have arrived and are onsite.

· Pending Change Order for additional gutters and downspouts is forthcoming.
Low Voltage Electrical:

· Continued terminations in center and north electrical room

· Continued installing electrical conduits and cables to chipper deck electrical room

· Continued installing fire alarm piping, boxes, and wiring

Hog Room, Glue Room, Chipper Deck:

· Installed EPDM electrical room roofing

· Installed handrails around chipper deck

· Installed cross-over deck above No. 1 Lathe infeed deck

· Installed access stairs to west end of lathe deck (beside No. 1 lathe)

Plant Build-Out:

· Continued laying block walls and setting door frames in east mezzanine area (Restrooms, breakroom, offices, boiler room, air compressor room, and maintenance shop)

Plant Piping:

· Continued installing steam and condensate piping to Dryers No. 1, 2, and 3

· Continued installing steam and condensate pipe hangers and piping along east building wall to green-end

· Installed steam and condensate piping across green-end (Building No. 9) and out north wall of building

· Continued installing insulation on steam and condensate piping

Site Paving:

· No work this week

· In process of resolving contractor coordination issues with access to paving site

Fire Protection System:

· Continued installing sprinkler system at mezzanine office area (ground floor level)

· Continued installing sprinklers in ceiling at Building 11

· Began installing piping for rework of deluge systems in dryers #1 & 2 and installation of new deluge system in dryer #3

· Began installing hose reels on columns in Buildings 1, 3, & 5

· Placed vault wall “N” and tee section at north end of Vault “K”

· Continued pre-tying rebar mats for additional vault walls

· Began forming vault wall “O”

Log Pro Equipment Foundations:

· Placed concrete retaining wall at north end of tree-length log deck to debarker

Equipment Foundations (East and West Residuals):

· Continued saw-cutting new openings for east-side residual foundations

· Began breaking and removing concrete for east-side residuals

· Began pre-tying foundation steel for east-side residuals

· Began layout and forming for truck bin foundation on east-side residuals

Foundations:

Low Voltage Electrical:
· Completed installing lighting fixtures in Buildings 6, 6A, & 7

· Pulled electrical tray cable to boiler room and glue room

· Continued terminations in center and north electrical room

· Continued installing electrical conduits to chipper deck electrical room

· Completed installing lights in glue room and hog room

· Continued installing fire alarm piping, boxes, and wiring

· Performed 4 underground borings from main plant to fire pump house for fire alarm system

· Performed two additional underground borings: one to existing guard house and one to corner at main entrance/parking lot

Hog Room, Glue Room, Chipper Deck:
· Completed installing support framing for Chipper Deck Electrical Room roofing system; awaiting delivery of EPDM roofing material for installation the week of March 7-11

Plant Build-Out:
· Continued installing HVAC units in both lathe control rooms (Conex boxes)

· Continued laying block walls and set door frames in east mezzanine area (Restrooms, breakroom, offices, boiler room, air compressor room, and maintenance shop)

· Removed block wall at west-side break room; wall is to be relocated 7’-4” to the east or original location

Plant Piping:
· Continued installing steam and condensate piping to Dryers No. 1, 2, and 3

· Continued installing steam and condensate piping along east building wall to green-end and vaults

· Continued installing insulation on steam and condensate piping

· Continued running steam and condensate piping along west side of presses
