Public Hearing Notice for Initial Hearing

The City of Louisville is considering applying to the Mississippi development authority for home investment partnerships program home owner rehabilitation program grant funds for housing improvements in the city of Louisville. The state of Mississippi has been allocated $3,948,129 in home funds that will be made available to cities and counties on a competitive basis to undertake eligible homeowner rehabilitation/reconstruction activities.

The activities for which these funds may be used are in the areas of affordable housing for low and very low income persons. More specific details regarding this project application will be provided at a public hearing which will be held at the City Hall in Louisville on January 23, 2014 at 1 PM. The purpose of this hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the application. Written comments will be considered if received owner before this hearing date.

To qualify for the homeowner reconstruction program, applicants must meet the following requirements:


1. Low income by HUD determination (written documentation required)

2. Home ownership – must provide copy of clear deed





3. Occupy as principal residence (12 month printout of utilities)





This facility is handicapped accessible and any other special services needed will be provided upon prior request to the city.
