DEBRIS PICKUP DEADLINE

Residential property owners in WIN STON COUNTY & CITY OF LOUISVILLE who sustained damage as a result of the tornadoes, severe storms and flooding that occurred from April 28 through May 3, 2014, have until  Sunday July 20 to place eligible disaster-related debris at the Right-of-Way (curbside) for pickup.

Eligible debris removal activities from private property include volunteers or property owners putting debris at the Right of Way (ROW); however, if a contractor is moving debris from private property under their contract and contract includes debris removal, then said debris is NOT eligible to be placed at ROW.

City of Louisville Permit Requirements

PERMIT  REQUIREMENTS

The 2012 International Residential Code Section R105-Permits state the requirements for permits and work exempt from permits as follows:
Section R105.1  Required. Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair move, demolish or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or erect, install enlarge, alter, repair remove, convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be done, shall first make application to the “BUILDING OFFICIAL” and obtain the required permits.

City of Louisville Construction Plan Requirements

CITY  OF  LOUISVILLE
CONSTRUCTION  PLAN  REQUIREMENTS
(JULY 01, 2014)

New residential buildings shall require construction plans as stated in the Section R106 “Construction Documents” of in 2012 International Residential Code.
Shall submit two sets of plans with each new residential building permit application.
Plans shall be drawn to scale upon suitable material. Shall provide sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of work proposed and show in detail that it will conform to the provisions of this code and relevant laws, ordinances, rules and regulations, as determined by the “BUILDING OFFICIAL”.

Plans shall consist of minimum:

REQUIRED INSPECTIONS
ROOFING & REROOFING
Felt Inspection - After felt has been installed over roof sheathing.

Final Inspection - After all roofing, drip edge, and flashing has been installed.


REMODELING & REPAIR
Floor Framing - After floor joists are installed, but before sub-floor or underlayment is installed.

Change to Garbage Pickup for July 4th Holiday

Garbage (solid waste) pickup in the City of Louisville will change on Friday for the holiday weekend. Customers who normally have pickup on Friday should plan for a Thursday pickup this week only. The City will collect for Thursday and Friday on the same day.

This change applies only to the City of Louisville. Solid waste schedules in the county will not change from their regular schedules.

In addition, the landfill will be closed on July 4,5,6 for the holiday (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
