DEBRIS PICKUP DEADLINE

Residential property owners in WIN STON COUNTY & CITY OF LOUISVILLE who sustained damage as a result of the tornadoes, severe storms and flooding that occurred from April 28 through May 3, 2014, have until  Sunday July 20 to place eligible disaster-related debris at the Right-of-Way (curbside) for pickup.

Eligible debris removal activities from private property include volunteers or property owners putting debris at the Right of Way (ROW); however, if a contractor is moving debris from private property under their contract and contract includes debris removal, then said debris is NOT eligible to be placed at ROW.

Storm debris, including stumps and root balls, placed at the Right-of-Way for removal should be divided into the following categories:
  • Vegetative debris,
  • Household hazardous Waste,
  • White goods such as refrigerators and dryers, and
  • Electronics.

Debris that is not eligible for curbside pickup:
  • New construction debris,  Concrete slabs,  Sidewalks, patios, pools or driveways.
  • Debris removed from agricultural land, unimproved or undeveloped private property.
  • Debris removal is for residential properties only.

If property owners hire contractors to move debris, the contractors must haul the debris off the property and cannot just move it to the Right-of-Way. Debris left by contractors is not eligible for pickup.

Residents who have questions about debris sorting or debris eligibility should contact
