City of Louisville's Required Inspections

REQUIRED INSPECTIONS
ROOFING & REROOFING
Felt Inspection - After felt has been installed over roof sheathing.

Final Inspection - After all roofing, drip edge, and flashing has been installed.


REMODELING & REPAIR
Floor Framing - After floor joists are installed, but before sub-floor or underlayment is installed.


Framing Inspection -After all new framing has been completed.

Electrical Rough-in - after new electric Wires and boxes have been installed, but before new fixtures and receptacles are installed.

Plumbing Rough in - After all plumbing waste and water lines have been installed in the exterior trenches, but before the lines are covered with dirt. A Water or air test shall be required. Water test must be done with a ten (10) foot head for a minimum of fifteen (15) minutes. Air test must be done with (50) pounds of pressure for a minimum of fifteen (15) minutes.

Rough Plumbing - After new plumbing lines have been installed at the interior, but before new plumbing fixtures are installed.

Mechanical Rough in - after the duct system has been installed, but before the registers and units are installed.


Gas rough in - after the gas lines are install, but before the gas appliances are installed. This shall include a gas air test inspection with minimum of thirty (30) pounds of pressure for minimum of fifteen (15) minutes...

Insulation - After insulation is installed, but before it is covered over.

Sheet Rock - After sheet rock is hung, but before it is taped or spackled.

Final -After all work (structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and gas) has been completed.


NEW BUILDING CONSTRUCTION

Temporary Electric -After temporary electric pole, meter base, panel box, and receptacles are installed.

Footer and or Foundation -After the footers are dug, rebar installed, and or visqueen, lime stone, and wire mesh installed, but before concrete is poured. A legal survey prepared by a certified Land Surveyor or Civil Engineer must be submitted showing the setbacks from the property line for the new building before an inspection will be approved. (Legal survey may be omitted if the new building has plenty of setback clearance and is approved in writing by the building inspector at time of plan review before the permit is issued).

Concrete Slab ~ after installation of compacted ñll, lime stone, visqueen, wire mesh, and rebar, but before concrete is poured.

Floor Framing -After Hoor joists are installed, but before sub-floor or underlayment is installed.
