The City of Louisville is providing info to keep the public informed of construction progress on the Winston Plywood and Veneer facility. This is a brief summary as of 4-10-2015:
Demomlition continues to progress. Concrete demo continues on old dryer foundation, lathe areas, glue room and miscellaneous small areas. Unsuitable soils along the east edge of the facility are being excavated.
Pilings are continued to be added with 18 added in the previous week to support the fire protection system storage tank. There are 278 required total and there are 29 remaining to be placed.
Foundation work is under way with 24 interior building column pile caps to be placed. Sixteen are complete with pile cap and a finished slab in place, Four need completion of slab topping and four have been dug and ready for reinforcing and concrete.
